Learn a trade most people have never heard of
Fibreglass pool resurfacing is a specialist skill that very few people in Australia can do well. We've been doing it as a family since the 1960s, and we're looking for people who want to learn it with us.

A skill that sets you apart
You can't learn it at TAFE
There's no course for fibreglass pool resurfacing. The skills are passed on by the people who do the work every day. We'll train you on the job, from surface preparation through to the final gelcoat.
Advanced composite materials
We work with the same family of fibreglass composites used to build boats, wind turbine blades and aircraft parts, from leading resin makers like Scott Bader and allnex.
Work that's in demand
Australia has one of the highest rates of backyard pools in the world, and thousands are reaching the age where the surface needs replacing. Resurfacing gives them a new life for a fraction of the cost of a new pool.
Results you can see
Every job starts with a tired, stained or leaking pool and finishes with a smooth, bright, seamless surface. Few trades let you hand over something that looks brand new.
A family business
You'll work directly with the owners, not a call centre or a chain of managers. Three generations of our family have worked in fibreglass.
Variety and travel
Backyard pools, spas and water features, swim schools and council pools. Most work is across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, with some regional and interstate trips.
Who we're looking for
Three ways to start

Labourers and trade assistants
No experience needed. You'll help with surface preparation, grinding and sanding, cutting matting, mixing and clean-up, and learn the trade as you go.

Trainees
Starting out, or ready for a change? We'll teach you the full process step by step: preparation, laminating fibreglass, resin work, gelcoat and finishing.

Experienced tradespeople
Fibreglass laminators, boat builders, composite workers, spray painters, pool builders, tilers and concreters. Your skills carry across, and we'll show you the rest.
