GKRX Retro LED lights
We supply and fit the Spa Electrics GKRX Retro range. GKRX Retro lights are designed to replace existing pool lights without new cabling in most pools, and they're made in Australia. Choose from three versions:
GKRX Retro Tri-colour
A simple upgrade with a choice of three colours, changed from your existing light switch.
GKRX Retro · LED · 12 VGKRX Retro Multi-colour
Colour-changing LED lights with a range of fixed colours and colour shows. Step through them from the wall switch.
GKRX Retro · RGB LED · 12 VGKRX Retro MULTIPLUS
Spa Electrics' premium colour range, with red, green, blue and a dedicated white LED. A true 4000K white, seven fixed colours and four colour shows. Works with many pool control systems and their apps.

Transformers and controllers
Transformers
Pool lights run on low voltage through a safety transformer. Old transformer boxes often fail or can't handle new lights, so we replace them with Spa Electrics low-voltage transformers sized for your lights. Plug-in transformers we install ourselves. Where a transformer needs to be hard-wired, a licensed electrician does the connection.
iRIS lighting controller
Pair MULTIPLUS lights with the Spa Electrics iRIS controller to choose colours and shows and set three brightness levels, without flicking the wall switch.
Pool control systems
MULTIPLUS lights can connect to many popular pool and lighting controllers, so you can run your lights from the same panel or app as your pump and heating.
Synchronised lights
Pools with more than one light can have them change colour together from a single switch.
Fittings
Pool fittings we replace
Worn or cracked fittings let water escape and look tired against a new surface. We supply and replace:
- Return outlets and eyeball jets
- Skimmer boxes and fittings
- Suction points and main drains
- Hydrostatic valves
- In-floor and automatic cleaner fittings
Doing lights and fittings while your pool is empty for resurfacing saves a second drain-down. Ask us to include them in your quote.
Lights, transformers and controllers are special-order items, paid in full when you order.

Common questions
Do I need new cables for a retro-fit light?
Usually not. GKRX Retro lights are designed to fit existing pool light niches and run on the existing cable. We check your setup before we quote.
Can I upgrade my lights while my pool is being resurfaced?
Yes. It is the easiest time to do it, because the pool is already empty. Ask us to include it in your quote.
Do I need an electrician?
Not if your transformer plugs into a power point: we install those ourselves. If the transformer needs to be hard-wired into your electrical supply, a licensed electrician makes the connection.
How are special-order lights paid for?
Lights, transformers and controllers are special-order items. They are paid in full when you order, before we place the order with the supplier.
Can I control the lights from my phone?
MULTIPLUS lights can be run from the iRIS lighting controller, and they work with many pool control systems and their apps. We'll tell you what suits your setup.
