What affects the cost of pool resurfacing
Every pool is different, so every price is different. Here's what sets the cost of your job, why we don't publish a single price, and how our fixed written price and payments work.

Why we don't publish a single price
Two pools that look the same in a photo can be very different jobs. One might need little more than preparation and a new surface. The other might have drummy render, cracks or osmosis to repair first. A single advertised price would be wrong for most pools.
We also work Australia wide, across Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland. Interstate and regional jobs where the crew needs to stay away cost more, to cover travel and accommodation. A price that suits a pool near our Mornington factory won't suit one several hours away.
So we price every pool on its own, after we've seen it, and put that price in writing.
The factors
What sets the price of your job
These are the things we look at when we price a resurface.
Size and shape
A bigger pool needs more fibreglass, resin and gelcoat, and more time. The shape matters too, including features such as swim-outs and spas.
Construction type
Fibreglass, painted concrete, marblesheen, pebblecrete and vinyl liner pools each need different preparation. A vinyl liner conversion is a different job from a fibreglass resurface.
Condition and repairs
The more preparation and repair, the more the job costs. Drummy render has to be removed and re-rendered level. Cracks and osmosis are repaired before the new membrane goes on.
Steps, ledges and remodelling
Adding built-in steps or a ledge, or other changes to the shape, adds materials and labour.
Fittings and lights
Replacing fittings, or upgrading to Spa Electrics LED pool lights, is priced into the job.
Access
How easily the crew and materials can get to the pool area affects the time the job takes.
Distance and travel
Regional and interstate jobs that need the crew to stay away include travel and accommodation.
Groundwater
Groundwater management via the pool base is included. If the hydrostatic valve can't keep up, a new hydrostatic main drain can be an additional cost. We explain this at inspection.
How we price
How our fixed written price works
Every quote starts with a free inspection. We then give you a free written Pool Condition Report. It includes photos of your pool, a plain-English assessment, our recommendation and why, the full scope of works, colour options shown on real finished pools, the warranty, and a fixed written price with payment terms.
The scope of works tells you exactly what the price covers. Anything that could add cost, such as a new hydrostatic main drain if groundwater is a problem, is explained at inspection so it isn't a surprise.
If a lower-cost option will do the job, we say so. For fibreglass pools under 5 years old and in good condition, our resin and gelcoat system costs less than a full resurface and comes with a 3 year warranty.
Every job is fully invoiced. We don't offer cash prices.
Payments
Payment schedule
- 20% deposit (minimum $500) to lock in your start date.
